The Loeries is Africa and the Middle East’s premier award, recognising creative excellence and innovative thinking in the advertising and brand communication industry. It is one of the most prestigious awards on the continent for any business.
The Shared Value category was designed to acknowledge companies that deliver value to shareholders while positively impacting society through their business models and practices: profit with purpose. It is an opportunity for businesses to share their Shared Value success stories and enable others to gain insights and learn from their experience. The award also plays an important role in creating awareness of the Shared Value concept. Often, it is the marketing department that has the most freedom to experiment with new ways of thinking about business, which can become the catalyst to an organisation making the shift to Shared Value.
The Shared Value Africa Initiative is proud to once again be involved in the judging of the Loeries Shared Value category, and encourages all of our members to submit their entries for 2019. Full entry information can be found on the Loeries website and the submission deadline is 15 May 2019.
In order to qualify in the Shared Value category, a business must demonstrate both ‘company benefit’ and ‘social benefit’. As the Loeries guidelines outline, the company benefit can take a number of forms, including an increase in revenue, brand awareness/loyalty, or new customer acquisition. On the other hand, the social benefit can be a range of measured outcomes from access to services to community upliftment to environmental impact.
