SHARED VALUE AFRICA’S NEXT CHAPTER

As Shared Value Africa enters a new phase of growth, the organisation is evolving from a pan-African alliance into a more structured institution focused on driving long-term systems change across the continent. After eight years of advancing Shared Value as a business strategy, SVA is strengthening its leadership role in ESG, sustainability, governance, entrepreneurship, and impact-driven business practices.

With expansion underway across Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Botswana, Shared Value Africa is deepening its continental footprint through stronger partnerships, regional collaboration, and implementation-focused initiatives designed to support sustainable economic growth.

This next chapter reflects a deliberate shift toward greater institutional influence, accountability, and measurable impact, positioning SVA to help businesses and institutions create long-term economic and social value across Africa.

FROM MOMENTUM TO SYSTEMS CHANGE

Nearly a decade ago, Edoofa was founded on the belief that Africa’s growth required a bridge between local talent and world-class education. This mission has since grown into a community of over 7,000 students, with 2,000 currently studying in India in specialised fields like Fintech and Pharmacy. By maintaining profitability for over 84 consecutive months, the organisation has proven that social impact and business excellence are mutually inclusive.

The program utilises an "Earn While You Learn" model, ensuring students are "battle-tested" through real-world business experience before they graduate. These "Edoofians" develop a level of resilience and technical skill that prepares them to be the "Chief Opportunity Officers" of their families. They do not just seek jobs; they return home ready to build the systems that drive local economies.

Edoofa is calling on business leaders and talent developers to connect with these globally trained professionals. The goal is to integrate these hungry, resilient graduates into organisations that are actively building Africa’s future. Interested partners are encouraged to reach out to facilitate introductions and support this ongoing mission.

GBVH INSIDE THE WORKPLACE

As gender-based violence and harassment (GBVH) continues to impact workplaces across Africa, organisations are being challenged to confront an issue that too often remains unmeasured and insufficiently addressed internally.

While many businesses publicly support gender equality initiatives, far fewer are actively assessing the realities of GBVH within their own workplaces despite its direct impact on employee wellbeing, productivity, retention, governance, and organisational trust.

There is a growing need for organisations to treat GBVH not simply as a social or HR issue, and businesses cannot credibly advocate for gender equality externally while failing to measure and manage the realities within their own workplaces.

FROM MOMENTUM TO SYSTEMS CHANGE

Andrews Akoto-Addo explores how Africa’s diversity is not a weakness, but a powerful economic advantage.

At the centre of this vision is JamiiTrade, Shared Value Africa’s growing digital platform. Designed to connect SMEs and young entrepreneurs across borders, JamiiTrade aims to turn the AfCFTA opportunity into practical, peer-to-peer business growth by removing traditional trade barriers and enabling real-time collaboration.

With the upcoming mobile launch of JamiiTrade, the platform seeks to make cross-border trade more accessible, seamless, and youth-driven.

As Africa continues implementing the AfCFTA, the platform seeks to remove traditional trade barriers and create practical pathways for peer-to-peer business growth, collaboration, and market access.
