Jane Waiyaki – Absa Kenya
Jane is a passionate sustainability and shared value advocate, and leads the Sustainability agenda at Absa Bank Kenya. She has over 10 years’ experience in the financial services sector.
She has been the main driver of the sustainability vision for the bank looking at it from a Strategic, Business, Operational, Governance and Reporting perspective.
In her role, she has managed to set up a sustainability framework and integrate the banks corporate strategy with the sustainable development goal. Her passion of ‘leaving no one behind’ has led her to drive sustainability education within and outside the bank that has led to her recognition as a 2020 SDG pioneer by the Global Network Kenya Network.
She holds a certificate in Business Sustainability Management from the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership; she is certified project manager, PMP® (Project management practitioner) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting option from the University of Nairobi. She serves on the board of the Kenya Green Building Society in the Advocacy committee and the Shared Value Africa Initiative, Kenya working group.
